Special Hazards

Fire Protection: In today's world of increasing global competition, simple fire protection may not be enough. Equipment downtime and loss of records, archival storage, and ultimately ongoing operations could have a severe effect on your operation and possibly that of your customers. Through the efforts of organizations like Bulbeck Fire Suppression Systems the world has come to rely on clean agents to protect people, equipment, and their operations. Contact us to help tailor a protection plan to meet your needs.

Siemens High pressure FM200 System

FM-200 Fire Suppression agent was the first environmentally acceptable replacement for Halon 1301. FM-200® has zero ozone depleting potential, a low global warming potential and a short atmospheric lifetime. It is particularly useful where an environmentally acceptable agent is essential, where clean up of other media presents a problem, where weight versus suppression potential is a factor, where an electrically non-conductive medium is needed, and people compatibility an overriding factor.

Our Siemens High pressure FM200 System is approved by VdS  of Germany and complies to all Australian Standards and Work Cover Authority.

Inertec55

Inert gas systems are considered to be one of the most environmentally friendly ways of protecting areas from fire. Inertec55 suppression systems to suit many applications. Inertec55 is especially suitable for extinguishing electrically generated fires and its neutral characteristics make it particularly apt for use within computer rooms and similar areas.

Inertec55 is an equal blend of two naturally occurring inert gases, Nitrogen and Argon. It has neither ozone depleting nor global warming potential and it's the most environmentally acceptable of all gaseous extinguishing agents. Inertec55 complies with the NFPA 2001 Standard on Clean Agents as it is electrically non-conductive and leaves no trace, Our Inertec55 system is approved by VdS of Germany and complies to all Australian Standards and Work Cover Authority.

Carbon Dioxide Systems

Carbon Dioxide has been used as an extinguishant in fixed installations since the beginning of the twentieth century. Carbons Dioxide is a colourless, odourless, dry, inert gas and is one of the most well known of all fire extinguishants.  The standard size cylinders used for the Bulbeck Fire Suppression CO2 system is 68 Lt steel cylinders filled with 45 Kg of Carbon Dioxide.

Complies with all Australian Standards and Work Cover Authority.

FireDeTec

FireDeTec systems provide cost effective, stand alone automatic fire suppression for your equipment, sytems and enclosures. FireDeTec can be utilised virtually anywhere that a fire poses a risk. FireDeTec is flexible enough for virtually any industrial equipment, vehicles, storage compartment, control cabinet or remote installation.

From vehicle mounted units to computer room protection, FireDeTec is the leader in reliable fire suppression for your equipment. FireDeTec systems quickly detect and suppress fire directly at the source, quickly, efficiently and automatically using your choice of suppressant.

The system can also be designed so that the loss of pressure in the detection tube can trigger a total flooding of an enclosure.

Fire Styx.

FIRE STYX® is a self contained, automatic fire extinguisher. It is designed to protect various sized containers, enclosed spaces, and compartments.

Envirogel®, a revolutionary extinguishing agent, which is delivered from a self-activating, temperature sensitive tube, extinguishes fires.

FIRE SYTYX® works quickly, efficiently, and with far better effectiveness than other Halon replacements.

FIRE STYX® is cost effective, simple, extremely reliable and can be utilized in virtually any enclosed space that has a potential risk of Class B or (E) fires.

FIRE SYTYX® Has UL, DOT, U.S. Coastguard approvals. Has passed the Wyle test for use in Avionics.

Fire Styx is now installed to U.S. vehicles serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

AFFF Foam Systems

BFSS foam suppression systems are an advanced, versatile, cost effective and easy to install fire protection system, designed specifically to cope with the harsh operating conditions experienced by mobile and transportable equipment.

BFSS foam suppression systems achieve theire impressive fire suppression capabilities through the combination of foam discharged in the form of a finely atomised spray. Strategically positioned nozzles direct the high velocity foam spray and provide "three dimensional" fire fighting properties, allowing the system to suppress pressure fires in a ruptured fuel or hydraulic line. Once discharged, the foam is effective in suppressing spill or pool fires which may result from the collection or leakage of fuel.

Features

  • Stainless steel cylinders
  • Brass discharge nozzles
  • Manual and remote actuation
  • Automatic actuation using Rise of Pressue (ROP) pneumatic detection or electronic detection
  • National installation and service network of trained technicians

Room Integrity Test (Door Fan Test)

In the past, enclosures were often designed merely to pass the discharge test. This often left rooms with fire barriers on only 5 sides with the top completely open — often only ceiling tiles stood between the protected enclosure and an adjacent unprotected area. Smoke or fire could readily enter from above. The discharge test only verified agent distribution in one location, usually the most favourable. This may have led to assuming that other approval steps could be overlooked. To make matters worse, the discharge test was never repeated. The room leakage would increase steadily, compromising the system from day one.

Now, the EPA, IRI, FM, other insurers, Fire suppression equipment manufacturers, and the Australian Standards all encourage door fan tests on every installation. Door Fan tests should be repeated annually or whenever extra holes are made in the enclosure.

Bulbeck Fire Suppression Systems use Retrotec equipment and our technicians are certified by Retrotec to carry out the tests.
